About me

    Nathan Tegel was born and raised in
    Orange County, California. Upon graduation of
    high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy
    in August 2010. He attended Hospital Corps "A"
    School Great Lakes followed by Field Medical
    Training Battalion at Camp Pendleton, California.
    His first duty station was 1st Marine Division as a field Corpsman and Senior Line Corpsman.
    He deployed to Afghanistan, Okinawa/Korea, and on the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit
    aboard the USS Harpers Ferry. He was selected for meritorious promotion to HM3 through the
    Command Advancement Program during his tour.
    His second duty station was Naval Hospital Naples, Italy. He served as the Plans, Operations,
    and Medical Intelligence Assistant Leading Petty Officer and as a Command Master at Arms.
    He was advanced to HM2 in 2015 through the advancement exam. He was then selected to
    attend Biomedical Equipment Repair Technician "C" school at Fort Sam Houston, TX.
    During his “C” school tour, he served as the class leader and duty section watchbill coordinator.
    He graduated the 14-month course with over 95% overall score and has recognized as a dean’s
    list student.
    His final duty station before commissioning was Naval Medical Center San Diego. He served as
    the Work Center Supervisor for the Navy’s largest biomedical equipment repair shop and was
    selected as the command Sailor of the Quarter FY2021 for leadership in his duties. He was
    advanced to HM1 through the advancement exam.
    In June of 2022, he commissioned as a US Naval Officer through the Medical Service Corps In-
    Service Procurement Program. Currently, he is a full-time student in the Master of Healthcare
    Administration at Army-Baylor and will graduate June of 2024.
    Nathan holds a BAS in Applied Science with a specialization in Biomedical Studies. Additional
    certifications include Certified Healthcare Technology Manager, Certified Biomedical
    Equipment Technician, and CompTIA Security+.
